"Who that inspires has the gift to pass on for others to follow"
R.A.McDonald

The first time you will see this quote is in my Book DRIVE To Peak Performance

But what does it mean?

Well, human beings are great at copying someone else. You know what I mean, don’t you?
Sometimes we look at someone, and say to ourselves:
“I wish I was more like him/her.”
“Nothing like that ever happens to me.”
“Why do they get all the luck?”
“They were probably born with a silver spoon in their mouths.”
“Life just isn’t fair.”

You are all aware, that for things to change, you must make changes to yourself. Time well spent is the time you invest in yourself. Developing your mind to make those all-important changes to your life is a key ingredient.

So how can we start the process?

We are all inspired somehow by someone or something, would you agree?

Take Sir Captain Tom Moore, at the age of 99 raising £32 million by walking 100 laps in his garden. Do you think he inspired a lot of people? It goes without saying, he absolutely did.

How about someone like Donald Trump, has he inspired many people? The answer is yes. He’s got a following and people are inspired by his straight-talking, no-nonsense attitude.

There will be someone who makes you think about what you are currently doing. The question is, is it congruent with your values? There will be someone who you admire, there will be someone who you would like to emulate. There will also be someone or something that fires you up to take action and do something rewarding.

As you can see above our choice of inspiration can be very different to someone else and just because you do not agree with their choice doesn’t mean they are wrong.

Remember, influential people or people you look up to can have a negative or a positive impact on your life.

Cultivate a new and positive change

If you are inspired by someone who makes their money from ill-gotten gains, the road for you could be treacherous and lead to a not so favourable outcome. On the other hand, if you are inspired by someone who sets the bar high and strives to better themselves each day and is a pillar of society, then I would suggest you start following that person. Look at what they do, how they talk, how they communicate and what their core values are.

Once you have this information, start acting the same way, start emulating their character, these actions will enable you to cultivate a new and positive change to your life.
